Welcome to your Noise Diary Dashboard! This is your command centre for documenting, tracking, and reporting noise issues. Here’s a guide to all the features available to you.
Dashboard Overview
Progress Tracker
The progress bar at the top of your dashboard shows:
- How many days you’ve logged incidents (out of the recommended 14+)
- When you’ve reached sufficient documentation for council reporting
- A summary of your recent logging activity
Quick Actions
These buttons provide one-click access to:
- Log New Incident – Record a new noise disturbance
- View All Incidents – See your complete incident history
- Generate Report – Create a council-ready PDF report
- View Reports – Access reports you’ve already generated
Recent Incidents
This section displays your 5 most recent logged incidents, showing:
- Date and time of each disturbance
- Type of noise (music, construction, etc.)
- Severity rating
- Quick links to view or edit each entry
Logging Noise Incidents
The “Log New Incident” form is designed to capture all the information authorities need:
Required Information
- Noise Source Location – Address where the noise originates
- Date – When the incident occurred
- Time Started/Stopped – Duration of the disturbance
- Type of Noise – Categories like music, shouting, machinery, etc.
- Location Heard – Where in your home you could hear it
- Severity Rating – How disruptive the noise was (1-5 scale)
- Impact Description – How it affected you personally
Optional Information
- Action Taken – Steps you’ve already taken (if any)
- Video Evidence – Upload recordings of the noise
- Additional Notes – Any other relevant details
Video Evidence Management
The “Video Gallery” section allows you to:
- Upload new videos – Add recordings of noise incidents
- Organize recordings – Associate videos with specific incidents
- Add context – Include titles and descriptions
- Review evidence – Play back your videos within the platform
- Manage storage – Delete unnecessary recordings
Reports Generation
When you’re ready to take action, the “Generate Report” feature helps you:
- Select a date range for your report
- Choose which property/noise source to include
- Preview how many incidents will be included
- Create a professional PDF document with all relevant information
- Include references to video evidence
- Generate a unique reference number for tracking
Report Management
The “View Reports” section allows you to:
- See all reports you’ve created
- Check the status of each report
- Download PDF copies
- Submit reports to authorities
- Track which reports have been sent and when
- Generate download links to share with council members
Account Settings
Manage your personal information and preferences:
